10 out of the 15 disaster declarations Utah has had have been for flooding. One of the best ways to help citizens mitigate the impacts of flooding is to offer them flood insurance. Remember, it takes 30 days for a policy to go into effect; the time to act is now! We are seeing more extreme weather patterns across the nation so it is important to be prepared for the repercussions of these. Snow, rain, and wildfires all play roles in the risk for flooding.
